The Trans-Ardennes Greenway has been getting longer in the last few years and it isn’t set to stop quite yet! Already reaching Remilly-Aillicourt at time of writing, from summer 2017, cyclists will be able to continue on to the town of Mouzon, enjoying the beautiful landscapes of the French Ardennes, riding alongside the Meuse River.
Once you arrive at Remilly-Aillicourt, you can branch off along the route heading south beside the little Ennemane River.

By train

TGV high-speed trains Paris / Charleville (1hr 45mins) / Sedan (2hrs) : 2 direct trains per day.

TER regional trains Charleville / Sedan c.15 trains per day, on which you can transport your bicycle for free. Train stations served at Charleville-Mézières, Mohon, Lumes, Nouvion sur Meuse, Vrigne-Meuse and Donchery (note that not all trains stop at all these stations).

By car

A4 motorway Paris > Reims then A34 > Charleville-Mézières > Sedan.

Sedan Fortress: Construction began in 1424 on the Château Fort de Sedan, which would grow into one of the most impressive fortresses in Europe, one serving a dual purpose – it was built both as a redoubtable fort and as a luxurious princely residence. It now claims to be the largest fortress in Europe. Don’t miss the opportunity of taking a tour around it when coming to Sedan!

In the town of Sedan, the Chocolat Turenne company has created many specialities since it was created in 1899, including its confectionery sangliers (wild boar), ardoises (slates), and its palets Rimbaud (slabs named after a famed poet from these parts).
